Near-Field ProbesJASCO aperture NSOM (Near Field Scanning Optical Microscopy) probes are fabricated by chemical etching in a highly reproducible process. If you have experienced the frustrations of pulling NSOM probes by laser melting and the poor performance of the final result, look no further. Superb quality high-throughput probes with a range of apertures are available as standard. Our probes are reproducible and guaranteed: individual SEM images of the tip can be provided. The NFS system probes can be replaced quickly and easily as required. JASCO aperture NSOM probes are available with short delivery times and we can accommodate special orders. (A) After Chemical Etching (B) After Final Metal Coating
SEM image showing a JASCO NSOM probe tip at high magnification, after chemical etching (A) and after final metal coating and aperture formation (B). The ultra-high throughput double-taper profile is clearly visible. The image at stage B can be supplied with all our probes on request, the tip and aperture size are guaranteed. Probe SpecificationsProbes for near-field microscopes. The probes can be supplied bare for use with customers own systems or with an aluminum tip holder for rapid attachment to the JASCO POPS-12 and NFS-200/300 NSOM systems. The probes attached to an Al tip holder have approximately 30 kHz resonant frequency. Probes will operate at all temperatures from 300K to 6K.
